Against bacteria: Chlorhexidine:
Chlorhexidine is used after operations instead of tooth brushing. It can also be used locally for infections. You will be instructed by us. We also refer to the accompanying leaflet. Avoid using toothpaste at the same time as it cancels the effect. In special cases, you can ask for a variant that does not discolour, as chlorhexidine is available both as a type that discolours the teeth and one that does not. Note the concentration and thus the effect. The discoloration is generally not permanent, except for cracks and fillings, and can usually be removed the next time you have your teeth cleaned with us.

Water flushers:
Flushers are not that well known here at home. Has been on the market in the USA for over 40 years. Read about Waterpik. Electric seems more efficient than the battery version. It can get in between teeth, between roots and spray away food residues and bacteria. Good for periodontitis patients, especially after surgery. Read: here.
